The ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï works together closely with different foundations and funds. Please find below a selection of foundations which can support students, researchers and university projects according to the particular circumstances and conditions.
Funding for Researchers
On the Funding Search page you will find a wealth of information on funding databases and lists of foundations. In addition, the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï has acquired licences for the search platform "Pivot-RP" and the online directory "Fundraiso" to support researchers in their search for suitable funding opportunities.
Max und Elsa Beer-Brawand Fonds
A share of the annual income from the endowment of the Max and Elsa Beer-Brawand Fund goes to the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï via the Department of Education. Students, lecturers and members of the mid-level faculty of the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï are eligible for support. The contributions are to be used for events and tasks that particularly emphasise the importance of the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï as a place of research, teaching and academic encounters, or for events and tasks with an interdisciplinary character, in particular in the Faculties of Law, Business, Economics and Social Sciences, Medicine and Humanities. Young researchers and projects that explicitly promote young academics are particularly eligible.

Call for applications for spring semester 2027: The complete application documents including cover sheet must be submitted by 31 October 2026.

Burgergemeinde Bern (civic community of Bern)
To underline its close connections with the ºÚÁϳԹÏ, the Burgergemeinde Bern (civic community of Bern) grants one-off, small amounts to scientific plans and projects of the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï as part of a loan approved every year. There is a web-based tool available for making your application. This is where you will find the funding criteria and submission deadlines. Please note that requests are now only accepted electronically using this tool!
